Product

One workspace for the questions bank finance teams ask every quarter.

Ask BankCFO is designed to move from “what happened?” to “where should I investigate?” without losing the ability to trace the answer back to the regulatory source. The embedded BankCFO Assistant helps connect those facts across the workspace.

01

Quarter intelligence

Surface meaningful quarter-over-quarter movements, peer gaps, monitoring items and trend context instead of forcing users to scan every ratio.

02

Drivers & lineage

Drill into loan and investment yields, deposit mix, noninterest activity and RI-E detail. See MDRMs, raw values, denominators and formulas.

03

Custom-peer benchmarking

Compare against a bank-selected peer group with medians, ranges, distributions and small-sample-aware peer-position language.

04

Changes & opportunity

Connect balance-sheet changes and peer gaps to transparent analytical sensitivities while keeping modeled economics separate from observed facts.

05

Market & strategy

Bring SOD market context, branch trends and acquisition analysis into the same decision-support environment.

06

Monitoring & data confidence

Save quarterly snapshots, create alert rules and review reconciliations so missing or proxy data is visible rather than silently treated as fact.

How it works

Built to be explainable, not a black box.

The core workflow keeps source data, calculations and interpretation separate so a finance team can challenge the analysis.

Step 1

Load the public regulatory record

BankFind financials provide the broad foundation. Optional public FFIEC single-period Call Report imports add detailed raw MDRM fields for deeper Drivers analysis.

Step 2

Benchmark and reconcile

The workspace calculates custom-peer context, checks source coverage and reconciles important derived totals before surfacing conclusions.

Step 3

Investigate with evidence attached

Open a driver, trend, market or ROA bridge, then use Lineage to see the source field, reporting basis, peer coverage and formula behind the number.

Security & vendor due diligence

Built with bank vendor review in mind.

Bankers should be able to understand what data is stored, what leaves the browser, how access works, and which controls are current versus still on the pre-launch roadmap. The Trust Center documents that posture without claiming certifications that have not been earned.

FAQ

Questions a bank team is likely to ask first.

Is this an FDIC or FFIEC product? No. Ask BankCFO is an independent analytical application that uses public FDIC and FFIEC data. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the FDIC or FFIEC.
What makes the peer comparisons different? The workspace uses the custom peer group selected by the user. It does not present those results as an FDIC, UBPR, national or regulatory peer group.
Does the application require internal bank data?No for the core peer analytics. Most analysis is built from public regulatory data. Optional internal deposit/product tools are deliberately classified separately in the current design.
Is a free trial available today?Yes. Self-service registration includes a 30-day beta trial with no credit card required.
How will payment work?Payment is not collected during the free trial. Paid pricing is still being finalized; when billing is added, the plan is to use a third-party payment processor and avoid storing full payment-card details in the application.
Can vendor management review the product before purchase? That is the intent. The Security & Trust Center documents the current posture and the evidence package being built for bank third-party-risk reviews.

Interpretation: This public section uses FDIC aggregate historical data for industry context. Annual data is not interchangeable with quarterly QBP data, and year-end balance ratios should not be described as regulatory capital measures or average-balance performance ratios. The authenticated application remains the bank-specific analytical workspace.
